Global Online Summit To Discuss RFID
Events news published: Monday 4th September 2006
Today saw the launch of the RFID Online Summit, an internet event hosted by Headstar bringing together global thought-leaders to debate the development of RFID radio tag technology and applications.
The technology is poised to bring huge changes to the way we work and the Summit is the first time that the global RFID community has been able to come together in this way and discuss the challenges that need to be addressed for widespread adoption.
The debate is taking place entirely on the Internet, over five days from 18 - 22 September 2006. Drawing 150 visitors from 17 countries across the world, the Summit builds on the considerable interest shown in this new technology at offline events hosted by the RFID Networking Forum, the largest event of its kind in Europe.
The event is being organised by new media publisher Headstar and Enterprise Events, organisers of the RFID Networking Forum. The flexibility offered by an online event has taken the discussion to a global level, with participants from the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Venezuela, as well as Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, and the UK.
Sectors represented at the summit include healthcare, retail, libraries, aerospace, construction, pharmaceuticals, automotive, logistics and transport, packaging, and local government. Participants include: end-users, analysts, solution providers/vendors, regulatory authorities, academics and government organisations.
The debate closes on 22 September after which a detailed report will be created on all that took place. For more information see:
