PITCOM Briefings and Reports
Technology Reports for Parliamentarians
Between 2006 and 2012, Headstar was awarded a contract to write briefings on technnology issues for UK Members of Parliament on behalf of PITCOM, the cross-party Parliamentary IT Committee. MPs and Peers founded PITCOM in 1981 to provide a bridge between Parliament and the IT industry.
During this period Headstar was responsible for the production of a series of briefings for MPs and Peers - dubbed 'PITComms' - on key technology policy issues such as the protection of the UK's critical national infrastructure; political campaigning online; the challanges faced by small technology businesses in selling to the public sector; and the switchover to digital TV.
The agreement with PITCOM also saw Headstar produce reports of PITCOM committee meetings, which focused on key strategy issues such as universal broadband access and convergence of the virtual and real worlds.
Since we completed our work for PITCOM, the committee has been renamed PICTFOR - the Parliamentary Internet, Communications and Technology Forum.
